Scope and Content
This series includes four large books, used by the justice court to record the name, date, and verdict of those charged in Salt Lake City for being drunk in a public place. Records also include the name of the Justice of the Peace, the date of the hearing, and the fine paid (if applicable). Each book has one or two corresponding indexes, which are bound separately.

Registers of arrests from Salt Lake City (Utah). Police Department, Series 4611, contains the formal record of all arrests made by the Salt Lake City Police Department. Dates and information coincide with the first two Books of Drunks.
Police blotters. from Salt Lake City (Utah). Police Department, Series 4612, contain the initial record of all arrests made by the Salt Lake City Police Department. Dates and information coincide with the first Book of Drunks.
