Scope and Content
These books contain the official records of arrests by the Salt Lake City Police Department, and were also used to track arrest statistics. Information about each case is recorded under the following column headings: date of arrest, name of officer making arrest, name of defendant, height, age, nativity, occupation, offense, personal property, cash, bail, fine, and remarks.

Police blotters. from Salt Lake City (Utah). Police Department, Series 4612, contain initial records of arrests, which were then formally written in the Register of Arrests.
Books of drunks from Salt Lake City (Utah). Justice Court, Series 4617, contain a formal record of citizens arrested for drunkenness; dates and records contained in the first two volumes overlap with the third volume of the Register of Arrests.
Criminal register from Salt Lake City (Utah). Police Department, Series 4658, contains a formal record of criminals arrested on any charge except drinking; dates and information overlap with the third volume of the Register of Arrests.
