Scope and Content
These binders form a synopsis of the governor's interactions with the annual legislature. The binders include information on the annual budget, including the governor's Budget in Brief; the final legislative bill summary report; a listing of bills passed; a description of the bills; and listings or transmittal letters for bills the Governor acted on by signing, allowing to become law without his signature, or vetoing. Press conferences, speeches about legislative activities, correspondence, and newspaper clippings which pertain to legislation also are included. The 1988 binder does not include any budget information.

Legislative case files from the Governor Bangerter, Series 8583, contain more detailed information on the governor's actions on individual bills.
Budget recommendations reports from the Governor's Office. Office of Planning and Budget, Series 84197, are the published budget recommendations, including the Budget in Brief, from all governors since 1923.
The material was taken by the governor when he left office and delivered to the Archives by former governor Bangerter in September 1999.

Processing was completed by A.C. Cone in December 1999. Filming was completed in March 2001 with the paper copy destroyed following filming.
